MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno ordered the suspension of face-to-face (F2F) classes at all levels on Friday, Aug. 28.
He cited "inclement weather brought about by the southwest monsoon (habagat) enhanced by a typhoon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibilty."
"Schools are advised to shift to ADM or Alternative Delivery Mode," he said in a statement.
He ordered the suspension upon the recommendation of the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (Mcdrrmd).
"According to the MCDRRMD, light to moderate rainfall, at times heavy, is expected from morning through noon, with chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall increasing in the afternoon through Saturday," he said.
