Maqna Esports Club completed a dominant campaign to lift the PMPL Malaysia Spring 2026 title, with rookie sensation FEXCRY stealing the spotlight as the team now turns its attention to the PMGO Season 1 SEA Finals in Thailand.

KUALA LUMPUR: Maqna Esports Club (MEC) were officially crowned champions of the PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) Malaysia Spring 2026 after a commanding campaign from the league stage through to the Grand Finals.

The championship-winning lineup of KEEM, FEXCRY, SYAMIL, VOKEY and IFTAR showcased consistency, tactical discipline and firepower throughout the tournament to seal the national title and claim the top prize of USD12,250.

With the victory, MEC have also secured qualification for the PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) Season 1: Southeast Asia Finals in Thailand, where they will represent Malaysia on the regional stage.

The battle for the podium remained intense until the final matchday, with Team 52 finishing second while AZ Slumber secured third place, ensuring all three teams advance to the PMGO SEA Finals.

Vertice mounted a late surge on the final day, recording two Winner Winner Chicken Dinners (WWCD) and the highest points haul of the last round, but ultimately fell just short of qualification by five points.

A major highlight of the tournament was the emergence of MEC FEXCRY, who was named the Finals Most Valuable Player (FMVP) after another standout display.

In a remarkable debut season, FEXCRY completed a rare double after previously being named League MVP, making him one of the breakout stars of Malaysian esports this year.

His performances earned him an individual cash prize of USD500, while cementing his status as one of the country’s brightest emerging talents.

The FMVP race also featured strong challenges from AZ BOBBY, VRT KENNY, and Team 52’s KIDDO and AISYY.

Away from the competition, the official MEC Watch Party held at Sembang @ Jalan Sultan Ismail attracted a strong turnout, with fans enjoying live viewing sessions, giveaways, food and community activities throughout the Grand Finals weekend.

PUBG MOBILE Malaysia Product Manager Ashley Phuah praised the growth of local talent and the success of the tournament.

“The return of PMPL Malaysia has been a resounding success, and Maqna Esports Club’s victory reflects the incredible evolution of our local talent,” she said.

“Seeing a debutant like FEXCRY dominate his first professional tournament perfectly illustrates the synergy between experienced veterans and the next generation of esports players.”

With the domestic season now concluded, Malaysia’s top teams will shift their focus to regional competition as they prepare to battle Southeast Asia’s best in Thailand.
