
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared special non-working days in various provinces across the country to commemorate their founding anniversaries and local festivities, Malacañang announced Wednesday.
Under Proclamation 1215, Marcos declared May 2, Saturday, a special non-working day in the Municipality of Bauan in Batangas for the celebration of the Sublian Festival. The festival is known for its cultural and religious significance, honoring the Holy Cross and Sto. Niño through traditional dance and rituals.
The President also issued Proclamation 1216 declaring May 4, Monday, a special non-working day in the Municipality of Taytay in Palawan for the Pasinggatan Festival, which showcases the town’s rich history and heritage.
Proclamation 1217 declared May 8, Friday, a special non-working day in the municipality of Camiling, Tarlac, to celebrate its annual town fiesta, a longstanding tradition marked by religious activities and community festivities.
Under Proclamation 1218, Marcos declared April 21, Tuesday, a special non-working day in Calamba City, Laguna, in celebration of its 25th Cityhood Anniversary.
April 30, Thursday, will also be a special non-working day in the Municipality of San Francisco, Quezon Province for its founding anniversary under Proclamation 1219.
Marcos also declared April 30, Thursday, a special non-working day in the Municipality of Calatagan, Batangas, through Proclamation 1220, to celebrate its Cultural Day, an event highlighting the town’s heritage and local traditions.
Furthermore, the President issued Proclamation 1221 declaring May 15, Friday, a special non-working day in the Municipality of Calauan in Laguna for the annual Calauan Pinya Festival, which honors the town’s pineapple industry.
He also declared the same date a special non-working day in Lucban, Quezon, under Proclamation 1222 for the celebration of the Pahiyas Festival, one of the country’s most colorful and well-known harvest festivals.
Lastly, Proclamation 1223 designated May 22, Friday, a special non-working day in Gingoog City, Province of Misamis Oriental, for the celebration of the Lubi-Lubi Festival, which showcases the city’s agricultural heritage, particularly the coconut, through street dancing and festivities.
