Marcos inclined to call for special session of Congress

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is inclined to call for a special session of Congress to pass the administration's priority bills, including a supplemental budget to cushion the impact of the war in the Middle East.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro issued the statement after Senate President Pro Tempore Sherwin Gatchalian said senators were studying the possibility of holding a special session to act on pending bills and appointments delayed by the recent leadership impasse in the Senate.

"As soon as the new leadership will send the official request for a special session, then the president will act on that," Castro said during a press conference.
