Marcos meets with Mitsubishi president for wind energy, rail collaboration

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday met with Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Katsuya Nakanishi as the government pushes for a collaboration in wind energy, rail, and digitalization, among others.

The chief executive said his meeting with Nakanishi would “advance investments that will create more jobs, help complete faster and more reliable subway and railway systems, and expand clean wind energy in the provinces.”

“These efforts will also strengthen digital services that make everyday transactions easier for Filipinos as we continue building a Bagong Pilipinas,” he said.

Also present during the courtesy call were Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, Trade and Industry Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque, Presidential Management Staff Secretary Elaine Masukat, and Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Dave Gomez.

Meanwhile, Nakanishi was joined by Kiyotaka Kikuchi, MC Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, and Asia and Oceana General Manager- Singapore Branch; Shota Kondo, MC Executive Vice President; and Harutaka Ishikawa, MC Manila Branch General Manager; as well as Ayala Corporation Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and President and CEO Cezar Consing.

Ayala Corporation has been Mitsubishi’s partner since 1974.
