MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. named Philippine Television (PTV) General Manager Lino Cayetano as the new secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), replacing Dave Gomez, whose appointment was bypassed by the Commission on Appointments.
Marcos announced the appointment during a press conference in Singapore on Sunday, the final day of his working visit.
Cayetano, the younger brother of Sens. Alan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano, will be the sixth PCO secretary under the Marcos administration.
The President also confirmed the exit of Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda from his Cabinet. He did not immediately announce Aguda’s replacement.
