MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the review of the provisions of the proposed anti-dynasty bill to ensure that it balances legal precision with practical enforcement.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Marcos issued the directives during Tuesday's meeting in Malacañang where they discussed key components that could be proposed for the anti-dynasty bill.
"The discussions focused on the levels of prohibition – the degrees or familial relationships to be covered, as well as the types of relationships considered, including consanguinity and affinity; positions covered – whether at the local, national, or both; and the scope of timing or timing of prohibition – simultaneous or successive," Castro said during a press conference.
"This was discussed to ensure the provisions that may be included in the law are strengthened," she added.
