PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will fly to New York for a three-day working visit in March, Malacañang said on Monday.
Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro said the president will attend high-level meetings in the United Nations, among them the opening of the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).
The CSW is one of the UN’s principal bodies at the forefront of promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Marcos will also speak at the UN General Assembly special session, “underscoring the Philippines’ engagement with multilateral platforms,” Castro said.
The General Assembly is the UN’s primary policy-making body, made up of all 193 member states.
The last time Marcos was at the UN was in 2022.
