PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Monday graced the ceremonial launching of the Megawide Pre-cast Technology Plant, a facility expected to help ramp up the government’s efforts to narrow the housing gap through the production of cost-efficient and sturdy prefabricated housing components.
Operated by Megawide Corporation, the plant in Taytay, Rizal would help enable faster construction of quality housing units under the administration’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH).
The launch coincided with the seventh anniversary celebration of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
“Our goal is for every Filipino to have safe, decent, and affordable homes,” Marcos said in Filipino.
The president also led the ceremonial turnover and awarding of different housing modalities and financial grants to beneficiaries and stakeholders from various 4PH developments in the country.
