Marcos vows continued support for innovators

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stressed the need to invest in the country’s innovators, highlighting that the government will continue to support inventions that serve the Filipino people.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony of the Presidential Filipinnovation Awards (PFA) National Competition on Thursday—where five Filipino innovations emerged as winners—Marcos said his administration will ensure that inventions will be brought to the market.

“We will continue to help all our inventors and innovators to bring whatever they have, whatever inspirations that they have developed, into proper and usable inventions to the market and to the people that it will serve,” said Marcos.

The PFA—a flagship program of the National Innovation Council (NIC)—was established under Executive Order No. 99, series of 2025, and aims to encourage Filipino creativity and business growth by helping promising inventions move from development into the real-world market.

The recipients of the award will receive P3.5 million worth of cash grants and post-competition support to help accelerate the development and commercialization of their innovations.
