England are through to the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, and it was none other than Harry Kane who is responsible for that.

After England conceded early vs. DR Congo during their Round of 32 matchup, many fans were worried of their team’s chances to qualify.

However, Harry Kane showed his class late in the second half vs. DR Congo as he grabbed two goals in quick succession to lead England to a 2-1 win.

While many are praising Kane for his performance, some thank the Ghanaian witch doctor Nana Kwaku Bonsam, who previously put a curse on the English forward.

Harry Kane proves Ghanaian witch doctor’s prediction correct

During the group stages, England had a frustrating 0-0 draw vs. Ghana, and Kane in particular struggled to perform. Many blamed it on the Ghanaian witch doctor cursed Kane before the game.

Of course, a lot of fans remained unconvinced of the curse, but it seems to have been proven true as the witch doctor lifted the curse off of Kane before England’s Round of 32 matchup.

“Yes, I did [lift the curse] yesterday. Harry Kane is not my enemy. I have a baby boy, and I’m going to name him Harry Kane because I love Harry Kane for a long time,” the witch doctor said.

He added, “… I know for sure, Harry Kane is going to play [vs. DR Congo] and play very, very well. He’s going to perform very good, you mark my words.”

Well, as the witch doctor predicted, Kane indeed performed well as he was the primary reason behind coming back from a 1-0 deficit against DR Congo in the final 15 minutes.

Harry Kane and England will take on Mexico in the Round of 16

Kane is currently in the form of his life as he has already netted five goals for England in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Evidently, he is in the race to take home the World Cup Golden Boot as well, but the show isn’t finished for the Three Lions yet.

After all, they have drawn Mexico in the next round of knockouts. While on paper, England appear to be the stronger team, it’s never a good idea to underestimate a team.

Even more so when Mexico are among the few teams that are yet to suffer a defeat in the competition. Can Kane once again carry his nation to the next round? Only time will tell.
