SHAH ALAM - A Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight en route to Kuala Lumpur was compelled to make an emergency landing at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport following an engine malfunction.

Flight MH199, carrying over 100 passengers, departed at 12.45am but had to return shortly after take-off due to technical issues.

The alleged engine malfunction caused sparks to emanate from one of the engines, prompting the urgent landing.

The flight was initially scheduled for departure at 12.15am, but the delay and subsequent engine issues left passengers stranded at the airport.
