
KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister II cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun held a special meeting with State Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Minister Datuk Jamawi Jaafar to discuss priorities under the Ministry.
Masidi said the meeting reviewed the current status of projects under the Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Ministry (Maffi), as well as identified matters requiring further attention and follow-up action.
“Coordination between Maffi and the Sabah Finance Ministry (MOF) is important to ensure the matters identified are implemented in an orderly manner and benefit the people,” he said during the meeting at the MOF meeting room, recently.
Masidi said the agriculture, fisheries and food industry sectors must continue to be prioritised to ensure adequate food supply while supporting the State’s economic growth.
He said close cooperation between ministries and relevant agencies must be strengthened so that every plan could be translated into effective implementation.
“Therefore, the State Government remains committed to making the agro-food sector an important driver in strengthening the State’s economy and improving the people’s wellbeing,” he said.
