
Former education minister Dr Maszlee Malik will battle four rivals in a five-cornered contest for the Puteri Wangsa state seat.
JOHOR BAHRU: Former Education Minister and Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Dr Maszlee Malik will face a five-cornered contest in his bid for the Puteri Wangsa state seat.
He will be up against Rashifa Aljunied from the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA), Teow Chia Ling (Barisan Nasional), Nicholas Paul Vincent (Parti Bersama Malaysia), and Wang Wee Siong (Independent).
The announcement was made by returning officer Zulkurnain Abdul Rahman after the nomination process for the Puteri Wangsa state seat closed at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Dato’ Onn today.
Amira Aisya Abd Aziz of MUDA was the incumbent for the seat but is not defending it in this state election.
Puteri Wangsa has a total of 128,723 voters, comprising 128,525 ordinary voters and 198 police personnel and their spouses.
