Matt Damon reveals downside of filming for The Odyssey’s ‘middle-aged cast’

  • Matt Damon revealed that the "middle-aged" cast of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey suffered from back pain and cut feet during filming.
  • The actor, 55, told Radio Andy host Andy Cohen: “A lot of us are middle-aged people and what we got was back pain. Oh my God, running through Troy, like, you know, it’s all stone. You’re in these sandals and they’re very real. Our feet were all scuffed up.”
  • Damon underwent a physical transformation for his role as Odysseus, losing weight and growing a beard.
  • He also disclosed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that a female stunt performer, Devyn Dalton, was responsible for some of the muscular arm shots seen in the film.
  • The Odyssey has garnered critical acclaim and achieved a record-breaking box office debut for director Christopher Nolan, taking US$264 million.
