The FIFA World Cup 2026 has been full of stars, both off the pitch and on it.

This year’s tournament has seen the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane step up to lead their countries to victory.

While the beauty of the World Cup is that it is not always about the biggest players or nations, it is fantastic to see soccer’s elite prove their status by stealing the show.

For this is a World Cup like no other. It is dripping with celebrity status no matter where you look and the fans in the crowd are no different.

Hollywood film star Matt Damon is the latest to be seen taking in the action.

Damon spotted at Colombia vs Portugal

The 55-year-old was spotted at the Miami Stadium alongside John Leguizamo and Marcello Hernández.

While the stars in attendance were not treated to any goals, they did watch surely one of the greatest 0-0 draws in World Cup history.

Ronaldo drew a blank but the game was full of chances, with a late Davinson Sanchez winner for Colombia ruled out through a tight offside call.

Minutes later, Portugal forward Rafael Leao missed a good chance to give his side what would have been a dramatic victory.

It all meant that Colombia won Group K and will face former manager Carlos Queiroz and his Iran side in the last 32 next week.

Portugal, meanwhile, finished second and have been handed a difficult looking task against Croatia in the last 32 in Toronto.

If they win that, there’s a strong chance they could face rivals Spain in what would be another huge clash in the last 16.

Expect more major celebrities to appear in the stands as the World Cup moves to the knockout stages.
