Brentford striker Neal Maupay was delighted proving the matchwinner against Nottingham Forest.

Maupay struck midway through the second-half for the 3-2 win.

He said: "Massive for us. We've lost five games in a row so we wanted to win and do well today. I think the mentality of the team was spot on because we conceded an early goal but we never doubted ourselves, we kept going, we kept working hard and we got what we deserved today.

"It was a nice cross and I took a nice touch with my right foot and then on my left it was a nice half-volley. It's a good finish, happy to be on the scoresheet but the most important thing today was the three points because we have been struggling in the last few weeks. Obviously to get a goal is the icing on the cake."

On Ivan Toney's return, he said: "It gave the team a massive boost, Ivan is a great player so it makes us a better team and we have more chance to score and win with him on the pitch so it was good to have him back. He scored a goal, we got the three points as well so it was a great day for everyone at the club."
