MAYNILAD Water Services on Thursday said that its board had approved a plan to invest in a potential new water supply and wastewater infrastructure project under a possible public-private partnership (PPP).
Maynilad said in a disclosure that its board “approved the company’s investment in a possible a public-private partnership project with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority, or BCDA, [and] Korea Water Resources Corporation, pursuant to an unsolicited proposal submitted by both private companies to the said agency.”
“The project is intended to provide water supply and wastewater services within New Clark City and is contemplated to have a 25-year term,” it added.
The cost of the project and other details were not disclosed.
“At this time, the information contained in our PSE disclosure represents what we can share regarding the proposed New Clark City project ... Maynilad will make the appropriate disclosures if and when original proponent status is granted, and upon any other material development,” Maynilad representatives said in a message.
The BCDA in February said that it was looking to enter into a joint venture with Maynilad and Korea Water Resources to develop and manage water supply and wastewater services in New Clark City as investment activity accelerates in the area.
The initiative was said to have come from an unsolicited proposal from Korea Water Resources to the Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines, which was submitted in October 2025.
Maynilad shares on Thursday slipped P0.28, or 0.44 percent, to settle at P17.98 each.
