Kota Kinabalu: Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu (DBKK) can and will pursue legal action against those found using its official logo without approval.

Mayor Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip issued the warning after DBKK’s official logo was found on a company advertisement displayed at Donggongon Square in Penampang.

She said DBKK has not authorised the use of the logo in the advertisement.

“Using DBKK’s logo for commercial or other purposes without DBKK’s approval is an offence,” she said in a statement, Saturday.

She said DBKK takes the matter seriously since using its official logo in promotions and advertisements without permission confuses the public and damages DBKK’s reputation.

Cautioning the public against using DBKK’s official logo without permission, Noorliza asserted that DBKK has the authority to take legal action against anyone found doing such.
