Kota Kinabalu: The United Sabah Islamic Organisation (Usia) maintains its stance of opposing the construction of the Mazu Statue proposed to be built near the Kudat District Mosque.

Usia President Datuk Sapawi Ahmad said placing the 108-foot statue might disturb the solemnity of Muslim worship.

“The decision expressed is consistent with that of my predecessors, which is to strongly object the construction of the statue near the Kudat District Mosque, in 2005.
