MB orders end to foreigners’ encroachment on govt land, illegal trade

SHAH ALAM, July 24 - Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today ordered the eradication of foreigners’ encroachment on government land and illegal businesses in Selangor.

“Enforcement action will keep being strengthened through close cooperation between all concerned agencies to ensure the sovereignty of law,” he said in a Facebook post today after chairing a Selangor Security Working Committee meeting.

He added that the committee discussed safety and public order issues that require integrated action, as well as the influx of illegal immigrants and refugees in Selangor.

“This includes individuals registered and not registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR),” he said.

He explained that the presence of illegal immigrants in some localities are making residents uncomfortable, and that this requires more effective coordination between the federal and state governments.

“The state government will keep fully committing to ensure safety, public order and the people’s well-being are always a priority, with a strict, systematic and law-driven approach,” Amirudin said.
