KUALA LUMPUR — The Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) Leadership Council meeting held at the Menteri Besar's Official Residence today discussed the coalition’s preparations for the upcoming state election.
Negeri Sembilan DAP secretary Cha Kee Chin said the meeting chaired by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who is also the state PH chairman, was a “regular meeting”.
“It was not a special meeting. It was seen as ‘urgent’ because short notice was given following the dissolution of the Johor state assembly yesterday.
"The meeting was held in a harmonious atmosphere in the spirit of the Negeri Sembilan PH family. We discussed the readiness of the PH election machinery for the upcoming state election. That’s all,” said Cha, who is also Rasah MP, on Facebook this afternoon.
PH assemblymen were seen entering Aminuddin’s official residence at around 9.30 am today, leading to speculation that the state assembly would be dissolved soon.
The Menteri Besar's press secretary Ahmad Shahir Md Shah told Bernama that Aminuddin is scheduled to have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, tomorrow as part of his weekly routine ahead of the State Executive Council meeting.
The Negeri Sembilan State legislative assembly has 36 seats, of which PH holds 17.
Barisan Nasional has 14, but they recently withdrew support from Aminuddin. Perikatan Nasional has five seats. - June 2, 2026
