Megawide first-half profit 22% higher at P532M

MEGAWIDE Construction Corp. posted a 22-percent increase in consolidated net income in the first half to P532 million, up from P436 million last year and equivalent to about 80 percent of full-year 2026 profit.

First-half profit also represented 79.5 percent of its P669-million net income for 2025, the company said on Friday.“Our performance in the first six months of the year is consistent with our back-ended full-year financial targets,” Megawide Chairman and CEO Edgar Saavedra said.“We are also seeing the benefits of initiatives we started last year, which will complement the ramp up of our construction activities and progress on our expanded 4PH portfolio toward the end of the year,” he added.Consolidated revenues were nearly flat at P8.70 billion from P8.60 billion, with construction contributing P6.63 billion, real estate under PH1 World Developers Inc. at P1.79 billion and landport operations at P278 million.Real estate revenue surged 67 percent to P1.79 billion, while landport operations through the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange grew 28 percent to P278 million.Construction remained the company’s biggest revenue source, although its P6.63-billion contribution was lower than the P7.3 billion recorded in the first half of 2025.Gross profit reached P2.17 billion, while operating profit stood at P1.28 billion.Megawide said higher logistical costs and operating expenses, partly resulting from the Middle East war that began in February, weighed on margins during the period. The impact was partly offset by a P200-million reduction in finance costs, bringing pretax profit to P601 million. As of end-June, Megawide had a construction order book of P45.7 billion, consisting of residential projects, private commercial and industrial developments, infrastructure contracts and socialized housing projects under the government’s expanded 4PH program.Megawide’s share price rose by 5 centavos to close at P4.65 each on Friday.
