Megaworld earns P28B from residential lot sales

MEGAWORLD Corp. on Friday said that it had generated around P28 billion in revenues after selling out lots in four residential village developments across Metro Manila and key provincial markets.

The property developer said the sold-out lots included those in Paragua Beach Village within the 462-hectare Paragua Coastown township in San Vicente, Palawan and Maple Grove Park Village inside the 140-hectare Maple Grove township in General Trias, Cavite.

Other residential lots sold were in Ilocandia Beach Village within the 84-hectare Ilocandia township in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte and Embassy Hills in Quezon City.

Embassy Hills, located in New Manila was said to be Megaworld’s first ultra-luxury residential village under its Luxe Collection brand, while Paragua Beach Village and Ilocandia Beach Village cater to buyers seeking resort-style and coastal living in emerging tourism destinations in Palawan and Ilocos Norte.

Megaworld said the four developments collectively contributed about P28 billion in sales revenues in recent months.

“We continue to pursue our strategy of diversifying our residential portfolio to address the evolving needs and preferences of homebuyers and investors,” Megaworld President and CEO Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso said.

She said demand remained strong not only for condominium projects but also for horizontal residential developments within the company’s master-planned townships.

Megaworld said the sustained demand reflected growing interest in township-based communities that combine residential, commercial and lifestyle components.

The company currently has 37 townships nationwide covering more than 7,000 hectares and remains one of the country’s largest property developers.

On Friday, shares of Megaworld added P0.01, or 0.50 percent, to close at P2.03 each.
