PROPERTY developer Megaworld Corp. on Monday said it planned to build a beach club within its Ilocandia Coastown township in Laoag City as it ramps up development of its first integrated estate in northern Luzon.
The company said the Ilocandia Beach Club would rise along the township’s 1.4-kilometer coastline and was envisioned to become a lifestyle centerpiece of the 84-hectare development.
The facility will be Laoag’s first beach club, drawing inspiration from the tropical beach clubs of Sentosa Island in Singapore, Megaworld added.
Amenities will include a main clubhouse with direct beach access alongside a promenade of restaurants, cafés, shops and alfresco dining spaces. It will also feature a fitness center, swimming pools, private lounges, and walking and jogging paths.
“Our goal is to offer a unique, vibrant, and exciting beachside township experience in Ilocandia Coastown,” said May Santos, head of sales and marketing for the project.
Megaworld said land development for Ilocandia Coastown is set to begin early next year.
The township, located beside Fort Ilocandia Hotel, is being positioned as the company’s first “live-work-play” estate in the Ilocos Region, with plans for a town center, mall, office and commercial spaces, hotels and leisure facilities.
It is situated less than 10 minutes from Laoag International Airport and about 30 minutes from Paoay Church, recognized as a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Megaworld shares slipped P0.01, or 0.49 percent, to close at P2.05 each on Monday.
