Meghan Markle celebrated Father's Day on Sunday by sharing a heartwarming photograph of Prince Harry embracing their two children on Instagram.

The image shows the Duke of Sussex kneeling down to hug seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet, who clutches a toy giraffe.

Young Archie appears dressed for football, sporting England's red and white kit with navy shorts ahead of the Three Lions' World Cup clash with Ghana on Tuesday.

The Duchess of Sussex captioned the post: "They're so lucky to have you. We all are. Happy Father's Day to our one and only."

Speculation has intensified this week over whether the King might see his grandchildren during the family's forthcoming trip to Britain.

The couple have reportedly been offered accommodation at a royal residence for their planned visit.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have not been in the same room as their grandfather Charles since the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee festivities four years ago in 2022.

That gathering marked the last occasion the young royals spent time with the monarch in person.

The Sussex family are anticipated to fly from California to the UK next month for events celebrating one year until the Birmingham-hosted Invictus Games begin.

Prince Harry founded the international sporting competition for wounded veterans and continues to champion the cause.

The Duke of Sussex will also fulfil engagements with two charities close to his heart during the visit.

WellChild, which supports seriously ill children, and Scotty's Little Soldiers, a charity for bereaved military families, will both see Harry attend their events.

The duke has spoken of his eagerness to show Archie and Lilibet aspects of royal life and British culture that they miss out on whilst growing up in Montecito, California.

In 2024, Harry declined an offer to stay at Buckingham Palace because it came without police protection, believing the exposed entrances and exits would leave him vulnerable.

The Duke lost his legal challenge against the Home Office last year over guaranteed police protection and has continued pursuing the matter privately.

Under current arrangements, he must provide the Royal and VIP Executive Committee with 30 days' notice of any UK visit, after which the body determines what protection he receives.
