Meghan Markle is set to make her first public appearance on British soil in six years next month, accompanying Prince Harry for a series of Invictus Games-related engagements.

The Duchess of Sussex will join her husband for a visit to Birmingham Children's Hospital, where they will mark two decades of the WellChild Nurse programme, which provides support for youngsters with complex health needs and their families.

The couple's last joint official engagement in Britain took place in March 2020, during what became known as their farewell tour following their decision to step back from royal duties.

The Sussex family's five-day visit runs from July 7 to July 11, coinciding with preparations for next year's Birmingham-hosted Invictus Games.

During their stay, the duke and duchess will attend Invictus-related meetings at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, the historic residence of the Chelsea Pensioners.

On July 10, the pair will travel to Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre for celebrations marking one year until the Games begin, with Prince Harry participating in exhibition events alongside veteran competitors.

The duke's solo engagements include a symposium focused on wounded and ill military personnel, as well as Scotty's Summer Festival at Maxstoke Castle in Warwickshire, supporting bereaved children of armed forces families.

Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, will travel with their parents but are unlikely to make any public appearances, GB News understands.

The young prince was born in Britain but departed with his family in 2019, while his sister visited the country just once before, for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022, when she celebrated her first birthday and met King Charles for the first time.

Accommodation arrangements include staying at a royal Palace for part of the trip, where they will benefit from royal security, alongside private accommodation.

It is not yet known if the Sussexes will meet the King during their stay, following Prince Harry's brief encounter with his father in September 2025.
