Anwar Ibrahim has entrusted Amirudin Shari with discussions on seats to be contested by PKR in the upcoming Melaka state election.
SERDANG: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari would handle discussions on the seats to be contested by PKR in the Melaka state election.
“We have handed it to Amir to discuss the seats.
“We have entrusted the matter to Amir. Let Amir handle it,” he told reporters today after the national-level Maulidur Rasul celebration at Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Amirudin, who is also Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) election director, was previously expected to meet Anwar to discuss preparations for the upcoming Melaka state election.
PH has been weighing possible cooperation with BN for the Melaka state election, although no final decision on the arrangement has been made.
Anwar had previously said the PH Election Committee, led by Amirudin and PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, would discuss the possibility of cooperation with BN for the Melaka state election.
Meanwhile, BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said BN was still conducting a detailed study on the possibility of working with any political coalition for the Melaka polls.
He said the decision on any cooperation would first be made by Melaka BN chairman Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh before being finalised by the UMNO and BN leadership at the central level.
