Memorandum of Understanding between Flowmach Engineering Sdn Bhd and Puncak Kinabalu Oil & Gas Sdn Bhd

KOTA KINABALU: Flowmach Engineering Sdn Bhd and a Sabah-based Puncak Kinabalu Oil & Gas Sdn Bhd (PKOGSB) have forged a strategic partnership after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on energy infrastructure and engineering opportunities in Sabah and other mutually agreed markets.

Flowmach is a Malaysian engineering and technology solutions provider with capabilities in flow control solutions, valves, actuators, instrumentation, pumps, heat exchangers, piping and fittings, plant maintenance, MRO, pressure safety valve testing, fabrication and related integrated technical services.

While PKOGSB is a Sabah-based gas pipeline and integrated engineering services company with capabilities in Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC), gas pipeline works, piping and structural fabrication, mechanical works, turnaround and shutdown services, scaffolding, blasting and painting, marine support, infrastructure and civil works, and valve supply and maintenance.

The strategic partnership, formalised on Sept 8, this year, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), took place in conjunction with the Borneo Empowerment in Standards & Transformation Conference 2026 (BEST Conference 2026).

The MoU to last for three years, aims to combine Flowmach’s flow control and valve technology expertise with PKOGSB’s local engineering, fabrication and project execution capabilities.

Under the MoU, Flowmach will provide valve technology, flow management solutions, equipment supply, engineering and technical services, while PKOGSB to contribute local project execution, fabrication, manpower, yard and site support.

The sealed collaboration will explore opportunities involving power plants, gas pipelines, metering, onshore and offshore oil and gas, and other energy developments.

Flowmach managing director Shahrizal Mohamad Sukri said the partnership marked a significant milestone in the company’s long-term growth strategy for East Malaysia.

“By aligning our specialised flow management technology, valve engineering and technical service capabilities with PKOGSB’s established local presence, we gain a direct, highly capable partner on the ground in Sabah,” he said to Daily Express here, recently.

He said the collaboration would enable Flowmach to participate more actively in major regional energy developments, power plants and gas pipeline projects.

Meanwhile, PKOGSB managing director Azlan Mataddan said the collaboration would support local capacity building and operational efficiency.

“PKOGSB provides the fabrication facilities, scaffolding, civil works and client interfaces needed for execution, while Flowmach enhances our technical delivery through specialised pressure safety valve testing, MRO services and advanced flow systems,” he said.

Azlan said the partnership would allow both companies to optimise resources, reduce operational risks and strengthen their joint tender capabilities for major energy infrastructure projects in East Malaysia.

Both recognized that their respective capabilities are complementary and can support the development and execution of valve, flow control, pipeline, plant maintenance, turnaround, fabrication, EPCC and related engineering opportunities in Sabah and other mutually agreed regions.

They said the MoU provides a non-exclusive framework for the companies to identify, develop, pursue and, where mutually agreed, execute business opportunities.

“The MoU combines Flowmach’s flow control, valve, actuation, instrumentalisation, equipment supply and technical service capabilities with PKOGSB’s local Sabah engineering, gas pipe line, fabrication, maintenance and project execution capabilities.

“Flowmach may also be positioned as a primary or preferred valve technology and flow management partner for suitable PKOGSB opportunities, subject to separate written agreements for any exclusivity or specific commercial commitmentsThe MoU does not create an obligation to award or undertake any specific project.

“Either party may terminate the agreement by giving 30 days’ written notice, while any existing binding contracts between the companies will remain unaffected unless otherwise provided.

“The agreement also provides for confidentiality obligations to continue for three years after its expiry or termination, except for trade secrets protected under applicable law,” both said.
