SHAH ALAM – The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a strong wind, heavy rain and thunderstorm warning in several areas in the country until 6pm today.
The thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds were forecasted in Perak (Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub and Bentong), Selangor (Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat), WP Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu and Seremban), Johor (Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru), Sarawak (Betong), Pedalaman Sabah (Beaufort and Tambunan) and Pantai Barat (Tuaran, Ranau and Kota Belud).
In a statement released at 2.50pm todat, MetMalaysia said the warnings were issued if there were signs of possible thunderstorms with high-intensity rain exceeding 20 mm/hour which was almost or expected to happen over an hour.
