- Michael Carrick has insisted he is not considering his future as Manchester United manager despite facing severe pressure following a humbling 4-1 defeat to Cesc Fabregas' Como in the Champions League.
- The heavy defeat in Italy extends United's dismal winless streak to seven matches across all competitions, leaving Carrick's position at the club under immense scrutiny.
- Carrick took “100 per cent responsibility” for the team's performance, apologising to the travelling supporters and insisting his primary focus is on fixing their issues rather than his own job security.
- Responding to criticism from Bruno Fernandes regarding the team's tactics and lack of pressing, Carrick noted that regardless of tactical choices, a lack of defensive work rate will prevent victory.
- Manchester United will aim to recover from the setback on Sunday when they host Marco Rose's struggling Bournemouth side in the Premier League.
