Mike Brown found a way to laugh at himself during a public New York Knicks celebration.

The Knicks head coach was involved in a “Who Let The Dogs Out” chant alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson.

Brown later made clear that most of the players did not let him forget about it, but he did name one player who stayed on his side.

Mike Brown says Mikal Bridges had his back after Knicks chant

In a clip posted on X, Brown appeared to lead the audience in the chant, while Towns and Brunson were framed as being embarrassed by the moment.

The key line came when Brown said: “All the players killed me, Mikal Bridges had my back.”

It was a light comment, but it gave Bridges a small role in a celebration that has already produced several memorable scenes for Knicks supporters.

Brown has been in charge since he was appointed New York Knicks head coach on 7 July 2025, and the title run has quickly changed the tone around his tenure.

Knicks title celebration underlined the mood around Brown’s team

The chant only landed because of the context around it. New York had just completed a 16-3 run to win the franchise’s third NBA championship.

That success ended a 53-year wait for another Knicks title, so the mood around the group was always going to be loose.

Brown’s Bridges comment did not need to be bigger than it was. It simply showed a coach enjoying the stage, a squad comfortable enough to tease him, and one Knicks player he felt was still in his corner.
