PUTATAN - The early voting centre for army personnel and officers at Camp Lok Kawi located at the Sekolah Agama Rakyat (SAR) Camp Lok Kawi, here, opened at 8am on Tuesday.

Sinar Harian's check on the ground found that the Election Commission (EC) staff arrived as early as 6.30am with ballot boxes to the early voting centre.

So far, the voting process went smoothly whereby the 5th Division commander Datuk Abdul Rahman A Wahab was the first individual to cast his vote before other officers and personnel started to cast their ballots.

Five voting channels were opened at the centre to ensure the smoothness of the voting process at Lok Kawi Camp.

Lok Kawi Camp – under the Putatan Parliament – witnessed a four-cornered fight, namely between Awang Husaini Sahari from Pakatan Harapan (PH), Datuk Shahelmey Yahya (BN), Poyne Tudus @ Patrick Payne (Pejuang) and Ahmad Mohd Said (Warisan).
