MANILA, Philippines — A politician in Mindanao was tagged by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as the financier of the chartered plane that carried 521 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P3.54 billion seized in Laos.
PDEA spokesman Joseph Frederick Calulut however declined to identify the politician. He said that the suspect is a member of a political party that is opposed to the Marcos administration.
Calulut said the politician paid P3.1 million for the chartered plane.
