JERTIH, Oct 17 — A father and son who went missing on Thursday while searching for medicinal roots in a forest near the La Hot Spring recreational area in Hulu Besut were found safe at noon today.

Adam Adnan, 25, and his father Adnan Mohamad, 57, were found by a search and rescue (SAR) team at 12.40pm, about three kilometres from the operation’s command post.

Besut police chief Supt Mohd Rozaime Ab Rahim said the two were brought out of the forest at 2.45pm via the Lata Kolam Air Deru recreational area.

“The two men were found weak after going without food for three days while lost in the forest.

“They were assisted down by the rescue team before being taken by a Civil Defence Force (APM) ambulance to Besut Hospital for further treatment,” he told reporters here today.
