The Mitt GT-K is for anyone looking to own a BMW bike, without paying BMW money

The Mitt GT-K is a motorcycle that may remind you of BMW’s premium touring models, thanks to its fully faired bodywork and commanding stance. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that the GT-K is not just a clone, it’s a fully capable touring bike designed for riders who seek exceptional value without compromising on comfort or performance.

At the heart of the GT-K lies a 730cc water-cooled parallel-twin engine. It produces an impressive 75hp at 8,500 rpm and 70Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm. While it’s less powerful than the six-cylinder BMW K 1600 GT, the GT-K makes up for it with a lighter overall design, weighing just 496 pounds (225 kg).

Moreover, this makes it significantly lighter than competitors like the Honda Goldwing, offering an agile and more accessible ride. The GT-K’s six-speed gearbox includes a slipper clutch, though it lacks a quick-shifter and uses a chain drive instead of the BMW’s shaft drive. The GT-K’s lightweight construction is bolstered by its aluminium frame and rear swingarm, making it easier to handle during long rides or urban commutes.

As a true touring bike, it also features essential amenities like 20-litre side cases and a 24-litre fuel tank, providing ample storage space and long-range capabilities as well as a partially adjustable upside-down front forks and a rear shock offering 80mm of plush travel for a smooth ride over diverse terrains.

It also comes with Brembo brakes with dual 298-mm front discs, 220-mm rear disc, and Bosch ABS for superior braking performance and safety as well as Pirelli Angel GT tyres mounted on 17-inch wheels, ensuring optimal grip and stability in various weather conditions. Touring motorcycles are known for their comfort, and the GT-K excels in this area.

On top  of that, with a 30.7-inch seat height, it accommodates a wide range of riders, including those with shorter inseams. The elevated handlebars further enhance comfort for long-distance rides, minimizing rider fatigue. The spacious rear seat ensures passengers also enjoy a comfortable experience, making it an excellent choice for two-up touring.

Priced at just €11,495 (about RM52,901.45), the Mitt GT-K offers exceptional value, costing less than half the price of comparable BMW models. While it may not match BMW’s refinement or sheer performance, the GT-K provides an impressive mix of comfort, features, and practicality, making it a fantastic choice for riders looking for a cost-effective entry into the luxury touring market. Let’s hope we get it here in Malaysia too.
