MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa inaugurated a newly constructed sports ground in village Nangal Shahidan. On the occasion, he congratulated the local residents and said that the Punjab Government is continuously taking concrete steps to promote sports across the state.

Jimpa stated that the government is developing around 3,100 sports grounds in the first phase across Punjab. He further said that nearly 30 sports grounds are being constructed in each assembly constituency, depending on local needs, to ensure that youth have access to sports facilities near their homes and are encouraged to stay away from social evils such as drug abuse.

He further said that the sports ground will not only benefit the youth but also prove useful for women and elderly residents of the village. It will provide a safe and convenient environment for morning and evening walks, contributing to better health among villagers.

The MLA emphasised that such initiatives will strengthen sports culture in rural areas and help nurture talented players who will bring pride to the state and the nation in the future.

He said that people of this village have just returned from visiting religious places in Amritsar, including Shri Harmandir Sahib and Shri Durgiana Mandir, under the Chief Minister’s pilgrimage scheme.
