KUCHING (Nov 12): Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd (MLNG) has been honoured with the Pinnacle Award, the highest individual recognition presented by Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB), for its exceptional contribution and long-standing partnership with the port.

The award was presented by State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, who is also BPHB chairman, during the port’s Customer Centric Nite 2025 celebration held at a hotel here last night.

Receiving the Pinnacle Award was MLNG managing director and group chief executive officer (CEO) Syazwan Abdullah alias Laga Jenggi.

The prestigious Pinnacle Award represents the peak of achievement and partnership excellence, celebrating extraordinary contributions, unwavering collaboration, and a consistent pursuit of excellence.

BPHP president and group chief executive officer Datuk Ruslan Abdul Ghani said for over 40 years, MLNG has stood shoulder to shoulder with Bintulu Port, driving growth, innovation, and reliability.

“Year after year, they have been at the heart of our shared journey of progress.

“In 2025 alone, MLNG achieved an impressive 17.7 million metric tonnes of LNG and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) throughput, underscoring its pivotal role in positioning Bintulu as Malaysia’s premier energy export hub.

“The company’s dedication, operational brilliance, and steadfast commitment have set an unmatched standard of excellence within the energy and logistics sectors,” Ruslan said.

He also acknowledged BPHB’s diverse customer ecosystem — from LNG and petroleum operators to container lines, logistics providers, suppliers, contractors, and government partners — all of whom play vital roles in maintaining Bintulu Port’s resilience and growth.

Besides the Pinnacle Award, other categories introduced by BPHB in the inaugural Customer Centric Awards were Value Builder Award, Excellence Award, New Dimension Award, Container (Transhipment) Award, Container (Local) Award, Supply Base Award, Dry Bulk Award, Break Bulk Award, Liquid Bulk (Palm Oil) Award and Liquid Bulk (Petroleum).

Ruslan explained the BPHB Customer Centric Awards were introduced to honour outstanding achievements and partnerships across the port’s customer community.

Each award category, he said, represented not just operational performance, but enduring trust, collaboration, and shared growth.

Ruslan said the event brought together key industry players, partners, and customers in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the port’s continued success.

Explaining that the Customer Centric Nite 2025 was dedicated to honouring the partnerships that form the foundation of BPHB’s operations, Ruslan said: “Customer centricity is at the core of our corporate culture — our customers are not only central to our operations, they are the heart of our universe.”

He also highlighted port’s five corporate cultures — customer centric, step up, solution focus, result matters, and value driven — all aligned to deliver excellence and responsiveness to customers’ evolving needs.

“Behind every vessel that docks and every cargo that moves, there stands a network of dedicated people — professional, steadfast, and passionate — who make it all possible,” he stressed.
