MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has invited the public to watch Alex Eala’s Wimbledon Round of 16 match against Jasmine Paolini for free through a live public viewing at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
The agency announced that the public viewing will be at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
The MMDA said admission would be on a first come, first served basis and urged spectators to arrive early.
The agency said the public viewing was an initiative of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to show the country’s support for Eala as she continues her historic Wimbledon campaign.
Eala will face Paolini for a spot in the quarterfinals.
