A METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcer will face a P5,000 fine and an administrative investigation after he was caught on video counterflowing on the EDSA Busway, the agency said Friday evening.
The MMDA identified the enforcer as Traffic Assistant 1 Jeffrey Tablan. In a video released by the agency, Tablan was seen positioning himself on the exclusive bus lane while attempting to convince an approaching bus driver to proceed through the counterflow. The bus driver refused, insisting that the maneuver was not allowed. MMDA Chairman Don Artes said the agency does not tolerate wrongdoing by any of its personnel and does not conceal violations committed by its employees, adding that erring workers would be held accountable and not protected from disciplinary action. The agency said the incident will be investigated to determine the appropriate administrative sanctions against Tablan.
