In a plot twist straight out of a soap opera, a 28-year-old Malaysian woman has decided to turn her marriage into a reality show by actively recruiting a second wife for her husband. Move over, Netflix, we've got a new series idea: “Marriage Matchmaker.”

Contrary to conventional wisdom, this modern-day Cupid, operating under the cloak of the Twitter handle @meinmokhtar, is not content with the traditional "till death do us part" mantra No, she's boldly embracing the idea of sharing her husband's affections, attributing his insatiable desires to the stress of his whopping RM18,000-per-month engineering job. Because clearly, engineers are the new Casanovas.

And here's the kicker – she's not just throwing words into the Twitter abyss. Oh no, she's putting her money where her marital vows are by offering a generous monthly stipend of RM3,000 to any woman willing to join this matrimonial circus. Forget dating apps; Twitter is the new eHarmony for unconventional unions.

But let's not gloss over the details. According to the brave matchmaker, her husband is a slender, average-looking, non-smoking introvert with a penchant for, shall we say, vigorous extracurricular activities. One can only imagine the flood of eager applicants thinking, “Sign me up for that engineering stress relief programme!”

In a move that would make HR departments proud, our intrepid marriage broker plans to meticulously review each candidate's profile and conduct in-person interviews before scheduling a romantic rendezvous with her hubby.

Talk about a thorough vetting process – forget a dinner date; this is more like a job interview for the position of “Second Wife Extraordinaire.”

Predictably, the post has garnered attention, with women of diverse backgrounds throwing their hats (or hijabs) into the ring. From childless seekers of halal pleasure to single moms hoping to secure a father figure, it seems everyone wants a piece of the engineer with the Midas touch.

Of course, no tale of modern matrimony would be complete without the cynics and sceptics. Some are questioning if RM3,000 is a fair compensation for navigating the complexities of a polygamous relationship.

Is this the going rate for being the second violin in a marital orchestra?

Others, with a twinkle of humour in their eye, suggest the husband might be the real mastermind behind this romantic recruitment drive.

In the end, as we await the next episode of "Marriage Matchmaker," one can't help but wonder – is this the future of family planning, or just a viral social media stunt gone too far?

Either way, grab the popcorn (or keropok lekor if you are in Terengganu); this soap opera is just getting started.
