THE Ministry of Education (MOE) has ordered all programmes involving a freelance speaker to be stopped immediately following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving pupils during school programmes.
Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the directive was issued to allow a full investigation into allegations circulating on social media, stressing that pupil safety and protection could not be compromised.
“I take note of several allegations circulating on social media involving a freelance speaker who had previously conducted programmes with pupils in schools.
“The allegations raised are serious as they involve the safety and protection of pupils. I have asked the Education Ministry to obtain further information on the matter,” she said in a Facebook statement today.
Fadhlina also urged anyone with information about the allegations, including pupils, to come forward and lodge a police report.
She said such reports were important to ensure that the children involved received appropriate protection and support.
“Pupil safety must be taken seriously and scrutinised. The safety of children under our care cannot be compromised,” she said.
The allegations surfaced on social media, with claims that the speaker had engaged in paedophilic behaviour involving pupils who attended programmes conducted by the individual.
The allegations have not been established, with investigations pending. - October 1, 2026
