
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has ordered the immediate halt of all school programmes involving a freelance speaker accused of inappropriate conduct.
KUALA LUMPUR: All programmes involving a freelance speaker who has been accused of inappropriate conduct while conducting programmes with pupils at schools have been ordered to stop immediately.
Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the measure was taken to allow a full investigation to be carried out following several allegations concerning the freelance speaker that have gone viral on social media.
“The allegations are serious as they concern the safety and protection of pupils. I have asked the Ministry of Education to obtain further information on the matter.
“The safety of pupils must be taken seriously and thoroughly examined. The safety of children under our care must not be compromised,” she said in a statement today.
In this regard, Fadhlina urged individuals with information related to the matter to come forward and lodge a police report to ensure that the children receive the necessary protection and support.
