The Health Ministry clarifies that clinics still serve walk-in patients, especially for emergencies and the elderly, after triage assessment.
PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Health has refuted viral social media claims that health clinics are no longer accepting walk-in patients.
In a statement on its official Facebook page, the ministry confirmed that clinics continue to accommodate walk-in patients.
This is particularly for emergencies, the elderly, and those with limited access to technology.
“Patients without an appointment will still be attended to, but will need to undergo the assessment (triage) process first,” the ministry said.
It added that walk-in services ensure fair and equitable access to treatment for all.
“MOH fully understands that access to technology varies for each individual,” the post stated.
While consultations are primarily by appointment, the ministry emphasised its commitment to serving all segments of society.
