LA Salle Green Hills standouts Behrouz Mohammad Mojdeh and Kristian Yugo Cabana hauled gold medals to earn Most Valuable Player honors in their respective divisions at the National Interschool Short Course Swimming Championship held at the Rizal Memorial Swimming Pool in Manila.
Mojdeh secured the MVP award in the boys’ 15-year division after harvesting four gold medals and one silver across various events.
He ruled the 50m butterfly with an impressive time of 27.59 seconds before dominating the 50m backstroke in 28.52 seconds.
The national junior swimming team member struck gold again in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 31.90 seconds, followed by a silver-medal finish in the 50m freestyle (27.41 seconds).
Cabana delivered an equally stellar performance, sweeping five gold medals to claim the MVP title in the boys’ 16-year category.
He topped the 100m freestyle (54.19), 50m freestyle (25.08), 50m butterfly (26.47), 50m backstroke (29.53), and 50m breaststroke (30.43).
La Salle Green Hills was crowned overall champion after taking top spot in Boys’ Division 2 and finishing second in Boys’ Division 1.
Both Mojdeh and Cabana train under the Behrouz Elite Swimming Team (BEST).
“I couldn’t be prouder of the team’s incredible showing at the National Interschool Tournament. Success at this level starts with a strong grassroots development program that nurtures talent early on,” said BEST team manager Joan Mojdeh. “Giving our swimmers this crucial competitive exposure builds both skill and championship character for the future.”
The strong performances provide a promising boost for both athletes as they prepare for the upcoming NCAA swimming competitions.
“This is a very good indication for the two as they prepare for the NCAA swimming competitions,” she added.
