THREE standout swimmers from the Behrouz Elite Swimming Team (BEST) mounted a golden rampage to secure Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) honors in their respective divisions at the 3rd Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI) Short Course Swimming Championships held at the Assumption University Aquatics Center Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok, Thailand.
La Salle Green Hills standout Behrouz Mohammad Madi Mojdeh spearheaded the surge, amassing a perfect 300 points to claim the MOS award in the boys’ 15-year division.
Mojdeh completed a spectacular six-event sweep, highlighted by two new tournament records in the 200m Individual Medley (2:12.31) and the 200m breaststroke (2:26.53). He topped off his dominant campaign with gold medals in the 200m backstroke, 200m butterfly, 100m butterfly, and 200m freestyle.
The victory serves as a major boost for Mojdeh as he gears up for the upcoming NCAA swimming season and the 48th Southeast Asian Age-Group Championships scheduled later this year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“I’m really happy with my performance in this tournament, but the work doesn’t stop here. I need to keep training hard to push my times even further,” Mojdeh said.
Joining Mojdeh atop the podium, La Salle Zobel tanker Therese Annika Quinto delivered her own six-gold sweep in the girls’ 15-year class to secure the MOS trophy with 300 points. Quinto reigned supreme in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly, and 100m IM.
La Salle Zobel teammate Clara Maligat locked up the runner-up spot in the same category with 222 points after bagging three individual golds—including a record-breaking performance—alongside three silvers.
Maligat established a new championship mark in the 200m butterfly with a time of 2:31.68, while also striking gold in the 25m butterfly and 100m butterfly. She added silver medals in the 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and 200m freestyle.
“To the second generation of our Behrouz Elite Swim Team: you made something beautiful this weekend. Mark this as the start of something exciting,” said BEST team manager Joan Mojdeh.
“Do not stop working. You are on the right path, you are just getting started, and there are still so many things to discover. Keep grinding—we are always here to support you guys all the way,” she added.
