How Can AI Improve Productivity?

This week I wanted to talk about “How Can AI Improve Productivity?” I have been using AI almost on a daily basis and have been keenly following up on all the changes and updates that are taking place in the world of AI. Each new update and new AI tool certainly inspires me to learn more of it.
So today I just wanted to simplify as to how can AI improve productivity?
- Can Help To Save Time.
AI is not only an answer giving machine but if you learn it well, it can help you to save time. I remember last week, I wanted to read a report on how AI was impacting the workplace. It was a long report in a pdf format and I didn’t want to spend a lot of time reading it.
So what I did was, I went to Notebook LLM, uploaded the report and asked it to simplify it for me. In fact it made it very simple by displaying all the important facts in infographic format. Now, of course you need to give it the right prompt otherwise it will not be effective.
Another example I can give is that I use to take 2–3 hours whenever I was designing my slides for my speaking sessions, nowadays I give AI the points and it does the slide designing for me. In fact it has helped me to save time.
- It Can Eliminate Repetitive Work
Whenever I had a repetitive work such as maybe writing the same email or coming up with social media contents, I have assigned special agents who do the repetitive work for me. I still use my critical thinking for this, the execution is done by the agents.
When I first learned how to create agents, I was very much impressed as to how fast technology is growing. Today, whatever monotonous work you are doing, you can assign it to an agent who can help you do it much faster.
Whether be it,
- Summarizing information
- Doing research
- Working on excel
- Answering customer enquiries
I remember on WhatsApp Business, you can train agents to answer customer enquiries without you personally answering them. You just have to give the agents the right information or teach them about product knowledge and they will take care of the rest.
So if you teach the agents well, they will take away the repetitive work and free up your time so that you can focus on other things.
- Can Help You Learn New Skills
If you are someone who is currently struggling with any skill. You can use AI to come up with a learning plan whereby it will walk you step by step in terms of learning the skill. Whether be it communication skills, people skills or even building a website, it can help you to learn faster.
Because of this disruption, I think the education and training world is also evolving fast whereby as a trainer myself, I need to facilitate more then just explaining principles, techniques but also helping participants to be engaged with the whole process.
I remember learning conversational skills for networking through AI. It made it very easy for and also give me a plan whereby I could follow it daily so that I can get really good at it. Over time this has become natural for me and has helped me to improve with my networking.
- Can Help You Create
I remember recently working on Google Flow, I was simply impressed with its videos and picture generation. Because today, you no longer have to go find the right picture or the video but rather you give it the right prompt it will generate for you.
I use to spend a lot of time getting the right pictures for my speaking sessions and also finding illustrative videos. Somedays it will take me a few hours until I land on the right video and picture to drive my point further to my participants.
Today, I can get it within minutes the right videos and pictures in fact I can edit the videos and the pictures to my liking so that the main point is conveyed much more effectively. In the recent months you might have also seen how many AI developed advertisements have been flashing on the screens.
So in conclusion AI will definitely help you to become productive if you use the right tools and know how to use them well. Otherwise you might spend a lot of time figuring them out and what are the do’s and don’t that you should follow.
Also you have to understand there are so many AI tools that is available right now, you need to know which tool to use for what. Of course all the tools will require fees as they are tokenized if you intent to use them for long durations.
