After several days of intense heat, residents of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula finally woke up to a much-awaited shift in the weather on Wednesday. By mid-morning, light to moderate rain and thundery showers began sweeping across parts of the Tricity. This brought significant relief from the severe heat and humidity that had persisted in recent days. The IMD has now forecast heavy rainfall from Thursday through Monday.
