Monsoon rain to continue in Luzon, Visayas

MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon will continue to dump rain in Luzon and Visayas the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said a low pressure area was spotted at 1,340 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.

Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga will experience monsoon rains. Residents in these areas are warned of flash floods or landslides that may occur during heavy to intense rains.

Occasional rains will prevail in Metro Manila, Ilocos Norte, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro.

The rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, while the rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
