Carlos Alcaraz has booked his place in another Monte Carlo Masters final, where he’ll face Jannik Sinner once again.

His latest win came against Valentin Vacherot, bringing an end to the Monegasque’s impressive run on home soil.

Alcaraz looked as sharp as ever, keeping up the consistent form he’s shown throughout the tournament.

Clay has always been a strong surface for him, and right now it’s hard to see anyone getting past him while he’s playing like this.

On the same day Sinner matched a notable Novak Djokovic milestone by reaching the Monte Carlo final, Carlos Alcaraz added his own piece of history.

This has been a consistent theme in their rivalry, with both players eager to put their own stamp on the sport.

Alcaraz’s latest feat ties another of Djokovic’s marks, as he becomes only the third player to reach ten ATP-1000 finals before turning 23.

According to OptaAce, the only other two players to have done that since the format began in 1990 are Rafael Nadal and Djokovic.

Carlos Alcaraz’s record against Jannik Sinner

It’s been three and a half months since they last faced each other, but Alcaraz and Sinner are finally set to meet again.

With the world number one ranking hanging in the balance, it’s no surprise that this has been the main topic of conversation all week.

It is the headline story of the Monte Carlo Masters, and for good reason.

This is their 17th meeting, and there is a lot riding on it.

Sinner will see this as another opportunity to win his first major clay title and reclaim his spot at the top of the rankings.

Alcaraz, on the other hand, will be looking to hold off Sinner for at least another week while defending his title in Monte Carlo. Currently leading their head-to-head 10-6, he’ll be confident heading into this one too.
